The Alan Kershaw School of Holistic Hypnotherapy is dedicated to the highest standards of practice, and to promoting public awareness of the benefits that holistic hypnotherapy can give.

The Alan Kershaw Hypnotherapy school is currently offering a home study course in holistic hypnotherapy which offers a very comprehensive grounding in the subject and will enable you to practice as a therapist on completion. When you have finished the course you will receive a certificate in Holistic Hypnotherapy and be added to the National register of holistic hypnotherapists.

There are many home study courses in hypnotherapy available on the internet today, however not all of them cover every aspect of the theory that you need to practice as a quality therapist, or offer practical vocational based workshops. Hypnotherapy is our special ism. We are passionate about our courses and are proud to set an example to others as a school that takes codes of practice seriously and maintains the highest standards possible. We are able to offer students as much support as they need during the course, via phone email and face to face workshops. If however you are used to studying independently we are happy to stand back and allow you the freedom you need. In short if you need us we're here to assist to ensure you fully grasp the concepts of holistic hypnotherapy. You will not be simply a 'number' on our course.

Alan Kershaw is one of the very few hypno/psychotherapists in the country who has worked for the NHS. For 7 years doctors have referred patients to alan for treatment and the NHS has covered the cost. Alan has decided to branch out and share the secrets to his success through regular practical workshops which run alongside the theoretical side of the course, This is a fantastic opportunity to take advantage of a well known and respected successful therapist, who will be able to give you insight and share his experiences with you. He will offer practical examples and assist you if and when you decide to set up a practice in the future. It is this personal touch and our flexibility that makes us different to most hypnotherapy schools.

We also offer business courses based on real therapists experience when you near the end of your course. So if being self employed seems like a frightening prospect or you would like to brush up on your marketing, advertising, web, business management skills etc, please register your interest when you sign up for the course.

Who can study?

Basically anybody, anywhere. Whether you want to study this for your own personal development, or with a view to actually becoming a therapist this course is suitable for both. You do not need to based in Wakefield as we hold the workshops throughout the UK. Students backgrounds vary incredibly, the course is very popular with holistic therapists from all industries as it greatly complements the work that you already do and offers to broaden your knowledge ultimately producing better results in your current practice. Many who take the course have no experience of hypnotherapy and are people who are looking for a complete career change.

So what is holistic hypnotherapy?

Treating the mind and body as a whole, incorporating analytical, suggestion and bodily healing therapies in one.

The Course

The course consists of 20 modules with questions at the end of each module and 3 practical day workshops, allowing you to put into practice the techniques you have studied. Alan Kershaw is available by telephone or face to face (if location allows) for any questions.

On reaching modules 12 - 14 you will be invited to the first two days workshop, and the final day will be on completion of module 20, where you will attend the practical workshop and complete your training by sitting the final examination. On passing the final examination, you will become a Registered Practitioner of Holistic Hypnotherapy and a member of The National Association of Holistic Hypnotherapists, formerly known as the John Howard College of Holistic Hypnotherapy.

On purchasing the course we will provide you with a list of the practical workshop dates, which are run frequently as well as other one day workshops (available at a reduced price to our course students) taken by Alan Kershaw or occasionally guest speakers.
