Alan Kershaw
'The Therapists, Therapist'
Reiki Master and Sekhem Practioner
Although originally trained
in analytical therapy and hypnotherapy, Alan still studies other forms of the science of healing. He believes there are many therapies that work well together and has proved their success by incorporating them in his own practice.
His view is that every avenue should be explored; 'we are all on a continuous learning path.'
With this in mind he seized on an opportunity in January 1999 to travel to Japan. Whilst there he spent time researching, developing and training to become a Sekhem Practitioner, which is a higher vibrational level of energy healing.
Whilst there he met a Japanese Reiki Master, Yasuhide Tanaka, with whom he formed a close friendship. Mr Tanaka took Alan to what is regarded as sacred, the grave of the founder of Reiki healing, Dr Usui
On his return to England Alan took the higher level of training and became a Reiki Master himself, expanding his healing knowledge and abilities.
One of the areas Alan is particularly interested in is the various forms of cancer and the treatments available. He endeavours to find out more about how complementary therapies can help cancer sufferers.
Alan plans to become more involved in this area, as more research begins to uncover how the mind plays an important role in the causes of illness and recovery, currently known as psycho-neuro-immunology.
